Darren Fairhurst and Steve Hughes are television drama writers, creators and producers with over eighty broadcast credits between them for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Together, they created – along with Paul Marquess – the drama series ‘Crime Stories’ for ITV daytime, which ran for 20 episodes, and also the flagship 60’ police-drama series ‘Suspects’ starring Fay Ripley, which will air its fifth series this year for Channel 5 and Newman Street. Separately, Darren has written for shows such as ‘Shameless,’ ‘The Royal Today,’ and Steve for shows such as ‘The Bill,’ ‘Emmerdale;’ and they are both now currently core-writers for ‘Hollyoaks’ where Steve is also producer. Both have also worked extensively in the story department at ‘Coronation Street.’ Darren and Steve now currently have a number of co-written original drama series projects in active development.
