Gemma Copping


Gemma is an award-winning writer – she was the winner of the Soho Young Writers’ Award in 2013 for her play In Your Image – and currently a Storyliner on EastEnders. She is also developing her own original television projects. After gaining a first class degree in Creative Writing and Drama at The University of Northampton she went on to focus on TV Fiction Writing for her masters at Glasgow Caledonian University which was supported with a scholarship from the Warner Bros. Creative Talent programme. In addition to pursuing her own projects, she has since worked on Holby City in the story department before moving on to EastEnders.

Tim looks after Chloe who won’t leave her bedsit, as we glimpse into their past we learn how much of a part he played in her self-imprisonment.

Participated in Stolen Picture’s (Simon Pegg / Nick Frost) team project developing new scripted drama for a young adult audience:
Camp A young adult comedy-drama following a group of UK & US 15 / 16yr olds who’ve gone on holiday to a Christian Summer Camp in the USA. Yes, it’s ‘Fun, Friends and Jesus Christ’, but for our group it’s also their special morning prayer group ‘Finding the Light’ – additional support for those heading down a dark path… What it absolutely isn’t, is gay conversion therapy…
