Max is a director for film and television drama; he was recently announced as one of the directors of the BBC’s New Talent Hotlist 2017 by Tony Hall & Idris Elba. Max is currently directing the one-off 60-minute Christmas Special of The Secret Life of Boys for CBBC and Zodiak Kids UK, having directed the previous series, and also episodes for Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. He also directed the BBC iPlayer-exclusive film, the gripping drama-thriller ‘Is This Thing On?’ written by Vinay Patel, which launched in the summer of 2015 to critical acclaim. Max also directed the second series of Disney comedy-drama The Lodge.

Previously, Max’s second short, The Birthday Gift, a tense thriller starring Tobias Menzies and Sarah Smart, won Best Drama at the Dam Short Film Festival and Outstanding Foreign Film at the Sacramento International Film Festival 2014. Max’s first short film Watching premiered at the LA Short Film Festival, and won second place at the Manhattan Short Film Festival 2010. Max originally studied at the London Film School, making several short films, documentaries and music videos. After graduating, he signed to Agile Films, a commercials production company, where he has been directing commercials and music videos since. His commercials have been short-listed for the Shark Awards in Kinsale, and he was selected for the Shots Young Directors Showcase.
