Max is a director for film and television drama; he is currently lead-directing the new series of prime-time crime-drama series Shetland for BBC1 and Silverprint Pictures. Previously, Max directed episodes for Netflix/BBC teen-drama series Get Even; and the BBC iPlayer-exclusive film, the gripping drama-thriller ‘Is This Thing On?’ written by Vinay Patel. Max is also attached to direct the feature-adaptation of Cynan Jones’ novel Everything I Found on the Beach  and Max was recently announced as one of the directors of the BBC’s New Talent Hotlist 2017 by Tony Hall & Idris Elba.

Max’s second short film, The Birthday Gift, a tense thriller starring Tobias Menzies and Sarah Smart, won Best Drama at the Dam Short Film Festival and Outstanding Foreign Film at the Sacramento International Film Festival 2014. Max’s first short Watching premiered at the LA Short Film Festival, and won second place at the Manhattan Short Film Festival 2010. Max originally studied at the London Film School, making several short films, documentaries and music videos.
