Max Myers

Max is a director for film and television drama; he was recently announced as one of the directors of the BBC’s New Talent Hotlist 2017 by Tony Hall & Idris Elba. Max is currently directing episodes for new teen-drama series The Athena for Sky Drama and is also attached to direct the feature-adaptation of Cynan Jones’ novel Everything I Found on the Beach. He also directed the BBC iPlayer-exclusive film, the gripping drama-thriller ‘Is This Thing On?’ written by Vinay Patel, which launched in the summer of 2015 to critical acclaim. In addition, he also directs episodes for Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.

Previously, Max’s second short film, The Birthday Gift, a tense thriller starring Tobias Menzies and Sarah Smart, won Best Drama at the Dam Short Film Festival and Outstanding Foreign Film at the Sacramento International Film Festival 2014. Max’s first short Watching premiered at the LA Short Film Festival, and won second place at the Manhattan Short Film Festival 2010. Max originally studied at the London Film School, making several short films, documentaries and music videos. After graduating, he signed to Agile Films, a commercials production company, where he has been directing commercials and music videos since. His commercials have been short-listed for the Shark Awards in Kinsale, and he was selected for the Shots Young Directors Showcase.
