Anona, an award-winning writer for television drama, developed the children’s drama Itopia for Boom Plant (a prequel to Boom’s S4C / CITV game show Project Z) and wrote the four series produced so far, with series 3 winning the Children’s category of the RTS Cymru Wales Awards 2025. She has recently written for contemporary teen drama Hafiach for Vox Pictures / S4C, and she created and wrote the S4C children’s drama series Y Goleudy, which won an RTS Cymru Wales Award and was nominated for the children’s category of the 2023 BAFTA Cymru Awards. In addition, she has written episodes for the children’s historical drama Amser Maith Yn Ôl and stories for radio and television.
Anona gained an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Portsmouth and now lives in Cardiff, having grown up in the picturesque seaside village of St Dogmaels in West Wales – a place steeped in mythology and a strong sense of community, which has always been a source of inspiration for her writing. She writes in English and Welsh for all ages, but is particularly passionate about writing for children and young adults.
