Philip is a writer and script-editor for television drama, children’s and digital. He is currently script-editing on two new forthcoming prime-time dramas for Channel 5; Desperate Measures with Clapperboard TV and The Catch with Projector Pictures.
Philip is also a writer on the Scottish continuing-drama River City and has previously held a variety of positions on the story teams of a number of continuing-drama series, including Eastenders, Casualty and Holby City for BBC1, Hollyoaks for Channel 4, and Fair City for RTE, where he also scripted a number of episodes as part of the writing-team. For children’s television, Philip’s writing credits include story-lining and writing 10 episodes of BBC Alba animation Froachy Bay, and also his original children’s animation series The House of Shoogle which he developed for BBC Scotland.
Philip is now developing several new original television drama series as well as a film in development with Short Circuit, Screen Scotland. The film Committed explores themes around mental health in a warm but unapologetic way, telling the story of Jay and his journey after being sectioned in a psychiatric hospital.
