Stephen is a director, writer and producer with a varied skillset picked up over the course of his unique career in television and print media – both in the UK and Japan. Stephen is best known for his work in Supermarionation, having produced and directed the limited-series revival of classic children’s drama series, Thunderbirds, filmed using the original 1960’s Supermarionation techniques, as well as directing the documentary feature film Filmed in Supermarionation (based on his book of the same name). Since then, Stephen’s directing credits include Nebula-75 – his original Supermarionation drama – co-written, and co-produced by Stephen during lockdown. He also directed parts of Halifax’s 2017 Thunderbirds ad campaign; co-produced the documentary Cartoon Carnival; and filmed sequences for a Gerry & Sylvia Anderson-inspired episode of the ITV drama Endeavour.
Stephen is a dual English and German citizen – so is able to work in the EU.
